Fun Facts About Our Horses
Here are some interesting and little known facts about the Camp Puh’tok horses.


Frankie was a racehorse on the Quarter Horse track in Oklahoma and Texas. In total he won $30,000.
Shilo ran in The Pony Club’s Point to Point Race at My Lady’s Manor in Monkton.
Shilo and Cheyenne were wild Mustangs before we adopted them through the Bureau of Land Management.
Lewis and Clark are Camp Puh’tok’s carriage horses who were trained by expert horseman, Alex Frasier of Montana. They are currently being trained at Summer Wind Farm in Damascus, MD so that in addition to being Cart horses, they can be ridden by all-level campers.
Camp Puh’tok adopted 3 more Mustangs Dillion, Hicock and Wyatt from the Bureau of Land Management in January, 2010. They had 6 months of training in Pennsylvania before they arrived at Puh’tok last summer. All three have adjusted very well to their new home and have made new friends. They can be ridden Western and English and do great in the Round Pen.
